World Migratory Bird Day Festival
May 9 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us for a spring festival at Wertheim, a national wildlife refuge offering over 6 miles of hiking trails and nestled in the woodlands on the South Shore of Long Island. They typically host around 300+ visitors at the refuge throughout the day, and offer a variety of nature programs and activities. This will take place on World Migratory Bird Day, with a number of conservation organizations promoting education and outreach about the importance of birds throughout the country.
The Nature Initiative program will have a table and we need some extra hands! Come join us as we’ll be playing bird bingo and showcasing some other projects we’ve done.
**Volunteers are welcome to sign up for a half day or full day since this is a longer event. If you are doing a half day, please email me with the time frame (10:00 AM-12:00 PM or 12:00 PM-2:00 PM) you would like to attend for after signing up.**
