How do I sign up for the CSA?

Community members will be able to sign up for the following CSA year during the Fall. Registration information will be shared through our social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook), website, as well as our mailing list. If you wish to be added to our mailing list, please send an email to communications@avalonnaturepreserve.org.

I’m a CSA customer and missed my share pickup. Can I get what I’m owed on another pickup day?

If you give us an appropriate amount of notice (the week before), we can try to switch your days. This would mean that your pickup days are switched permanently for the season and we will expect to see you only on the new day. It is your responsibility to pick up your shares based on the days you selected. 

I’m a CSA customer and I will be out of town during my designated pickup time. Can I get two shares the following week?

No. We planned our growing season based on you picking up your shares week to week. Prepping your shares to be the best and freshest possible is a delicate balance of time and labor and we cannot accommodate deviating from the assigned pickup days. We encourage you to send a friend or family member for your share instead of missing out on your share all together.

How do I know when I have been accepted into the CSA program?

Once you have submitted registration, you will receive an email from a member of the farm staff from birdsfoot@avalonnaturepreserve.org confirming your CSA share(s) that have been approved and an invoice will be sent thereafter.

Do you offer any on-site programs?

There are no on site programs at the moment since we are under construction, but we plan to be a community destination in the future.

Do you have volunteers on the farm?

Not at this time.

Is your produce organic?

We are not certified organic but we meet and exceed expectations for the certification.

Can I walk around the farm?

There is no public trail access around the farm at this time. The public is only allowed to access the farmstand.

Can we interact with the animals?

No, they are working animals, on a working farm. Please admire them from a respectful distance, do not pet or feed them. Also, note that their fencing is electrified and will zap you if touched.

Can I order custom flower arrangements?

We are a farm, not a florist. We provide retail bouquets which are either mixed stems or straight stems depending upon the season. You can inquire about with a special request, however, we may not always be able to accommodate and we appreciate your understanding in advance.
