Meet us at the beach this summer to grow Eastern oysters (Crassostrea virginica) and hard shell clams (Mercenaria mercenaria)! Volunteers are needed to assist with the following tasks: cage cleaning/maintenance, measuring and recording growth rates, and analyzing water quality samples.  Seed oysters, clams, waders and all equipment will be supplied for Nature Initiative volunteers.

We will meet at the Stony Brook Yacht Club Beach located on Shore Road in Stony Brook.

 

WHAT TO BRING/FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS:

• Clothing: water wicking clothing, rain boots or water shoes (we’ll have extra waders)
• Hat/sunscreen/bugspray
• Water bottle
