Intro to Shellfish Restoration

June 6 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

If you are interested in learning how to grow oysters and clam from seed, applying field research techniques and doing water quality testing to ensure the health of our local watershed, join us for an introductory workshop to our Shellfish Restoration Program! We will be reviewing basic anatomy of oysters and clams, their importance as “ecosystem engineers”, and we’ll be going over the protocol for measuring growth rates. If you are interested in attending shellfish monitoring days over the summer, I would highly recommend the introductory workshop!

We will meet at the Stony Brook Yacht Club Beach located on Shore Road in Stony Brook.
