Seal Walk @ Crane Neck Beach
February 8 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Please note, this event is for registered for Nature Initiative members only. To learn more about our youth program, click here.
Come join us to learn more about seals, and the procedures of recording counts, species, behavior and other relevant observations. In previous years we’ve spotted a small handful of animals at this location. Although there isn’t necessarily a guarantee to see seals in the wild, we will certainly try and pick up marine debris along the way that could be adversely affecting the habitat of these animals. We will be meeting at a local private beach in Old Field this time to do our seal survey and pick up marine debris. At the end of the season, our data will be available for AMSEAS to compare/contrast species distribution at various sites across Long Island.
