A curated selection of sustainably grown blooms-safe to handle, grown without synthetic chemicals, and managed using beneficial insects and organic fertilizers. Visit our new flower wagon at the farmstand for fresh-cut bunches and seasonal mason jar arrangements.
Why local flowers?
They last longer, look better, and drastically reduce the carbon footprint compared to imported blooms.
Seasonal Highlights:
Grown using organic practices in nutrient-rich soil-healthier for the plants, better for you.
Our broiler chickens (Rainbow Rangers) are pasture raised on site, rotated regularly to ensure a clean environment and access to fresh forage. They are also fed organic grain and are processed and packaged on-site for a truly farm-to-table product.
Laid by hens rotated on pasture and fed organic fermented feed along with natural supplements like garlic and niacin. Nesting boxes are kept clean with fresh bedding. Eggs are collected, washed, and packed daily. Expect colorful eggs-different breeds lay different shades!
Our Peking and Runner ducks forage freely and have access to clean ponds. They’re fed a similar organic, fermented diet and treated to nutritious fly grubs. Eggs are collected daily and are rich, flavorful, and higher in protein than chicken eggs-great for baking and cooking.
OHoneyBeeFarm has managed hives on our land since before 2018. The honey is primarily from nectar of local locust trees here at Birdsfoot Farm and is available exclusively at our farmstand.
The bees also pollinate our fruits, vegetables, and flowers, supporting our harvest and seed-saving efforts. OHoneyBeeFarm raises their own queens from locally adapted stock, promoting healthy, gentle, and high-producing bees that are also shared with other local beekeepers.
