Building Bluebird Boxes
February 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Did you know that the Eastern bluebird is New York’s state bird? Not to be confused with the blue jay, the Eastern bluebird is smaller in size with a distinctive rust colored breast and males have a vivid blue coloration. If you’ve walked the trails around the meadows at Avalon, you’ve most likely spotted nest boxes which these birds will readily use. Join us for a two-part workshop as we assemble and paint bluebird boxes which will be installed at Avalon’s Birdsfoot Farm.
