Avalon Nature Preserve has permanently protected 216 vital acres of Long Island’s north shore, 140 of which are open for the public to explore and enjoy. Avalon’s meadows, woodlands and shoreline serve as essential habitats to protect our local watershed, flora and fauna. The preserve aims to remind visitors of our cultural connections to this landscape.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO PRESERVE VISITORS
The preserve can be accessed via Shep Jones Lane off of North Country Road (25a), Tuesday through Sunday.
Parking is ONLY permitted in designated parking lots along Shep Jones Lane. Violators will be ticketed.
Please note that access to the lower area of the Coastal Corridor (Boardwalk/Mill Pond) is closed to visitors.
