Wetland Hike & Toss
March 18 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Please note, this event is for registered for Nature Initiative members only. To learn more about our youth program, click here.
We’ll be visiting a section of the Long Island Greenbelt Trail along the Nissequogue River to learn more about this fragile wetland ecosystem. While we walk we will also be tossing some of the seed balls we made over the winter to restore some of the moisture tolerant native plant species which provide vital food and habitat to local wildlife, stabilize the soil and decrease runoff.
We’ll be meeting on Summerset Drive in Smithtown so we can have a direct entrance to the trail.
RAINDATE: Sunday 3/19 at the same time
