Fall is the perfect time for collecting seeds, especially in the wildflower meadows at Avalon. We have set some native seed aside to dry out to prepare for upcoming projects. Join us in the greenhouse at Birdsfoot Farm as Joy from the Four Harbors Audubon Society to learn the technique for cleaning and separating the seeds from the chaff (covering). This is a good way to learn more about saving your own seed and growing native plants based on what is already established (instead of buying new).
After separating our seeds, we will take a farm walk to visit the goats/sheep and give them some treats!
