Dive in to a 4-day session focused on exploring marine life beneath the water’s surface, learning more about our local estuaries, participating in field activities and getting on the water! If you love the ocean as much as I do, want to learn more about marine life, or are considering exploring a career as a Marine Biologist or a related field then this is a great opportunity!
This program is first come, first serve! Please make sure you can commit to at least two out of the four dates and times before signing up. Meeting locations will vary between West Meadow Beach, Nissequogue River, Stony Brook Harbor and the LI Aquarium.
We will be joining Kevin from Paumanok Tours to paddle the Nissequogue River, one of the four major rivers on Long Island. This watershed is recognized as an important bird area and a significant coastal fish and wildlife habitat. Come enjoy a day of learning more about this diverse ecosystem! *Important Note: this paddle is just under 5 miles long, prior paddling experience required
