Who says you can’t still garden in the winter? We’ll be taking the native seeds that we separated and will be planting them into trays. These seeds will need to undergo a process called cold stratification so that they will germinate in the spring/summer. Now is a great time to blanket these little seeds with soil and wish them luck. We hope to transplant these into the other community gardens we’ve been working on.
We will be conducting this project in our greenhouse on Birdsfoot Farm at Avalon. After planting, you’ll be able to see some of the farm animals up close and learn more about them!
We will be meeting at Birdsfoot Farm located on Shep Jones Lane in St James.
