We will be hosting a workshop with Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Program in which we will be making burlap discs. These burlap discs serve as anchor points for eelgrass which the CCE team is working to restore to surrounding wetlands. Eelgrass is essential to a healthy ecosystem by providing nursery habitat for juvenile fish, providing habitat for seahorses, stabilizing sediment, combating erosion and strengthening coastal dunes. Join us to make burlap “tortillas” which will be used later on in the year for marsh planting.
