EVENT FULL

Dive in to a 4-day session focused on exploring marine life beneath the water’s surface, learning more about our local estuaries, participating in field activities and getting on the water! If you love the ocean as much as I do, want to learn more about marine life, or are considering exploring a career as a Marine Biologist or a related field then this is a great opportunity!

This program is first come, first serve! Please make sure you can commit to at least two out of the four dates and times before signing up. Meeting locations will vary between West Meadow Beach, Nissequogue River, Stony Brook Harbor and the LI Aquarium.

For the final day of Marine Science Week, we’ll explore the Peconic River and Flanders Bay. Conducted by Aquarium Educators, the adventure offers plenty of opportunity for hands-on exploration while promoting environmental awareness and education about the Peconic Estuary.

Following the boat tour, we’ll have the opportunity to join biologists from the NY Marine Rescue Center for a special behind the scenes tour of their hospital. You will learn more about different seals and sea turtles that inhabit NY waters and what it takes to rehabilitate them. Find out what patients are currently in the hospital and the reasons they were brought in for treatment.
