Stony Brook Rotary Garden

November 11, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Please note, this event is for registered for Nature Initiative members only. To learn more about our youth program, click here.

Since 2014, our volunteers have been graciously assisting the Stony Brook Rotary Club in maintaining their native plant garden along the walkway of Stony Brook Harbor. This summer, we planted in “The Kindness Garden”, a memorial garden in dedication to 6-year old Catherine Violet Hubbard whose life was taken during the Sandy Hook tragedy in 2012.

We’ll be heading to the Rotary Club garden while schools are closed on Veterans Day to do a Fall cleanup. We will be trimming back native grasses, pruning shrubs and small trees, pulling any unwanted invasives, raking out the soil and picking up any litter around the garden area. Come join us and lend a hand on your day off!

We will be meeting on Sand Street in Stony Brook (large parking lot to the right of the SB yacht club)

What to bring/further instructions:
