Join the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) at Cupsogue Beach County Park for a guided beach cleanup. Learn about the different species of seals that inhabit our waters, the procedures of recording counts, behavior and other relevant observations. View these animals in their natural habitat and learn how we can all help to conserve the marine environment. The beach walk brings you to a prime viewing spot for one of the popular haul out sites for local seals, giving you the opportunity to both help these fascinating animals and observe them from a safe distance!
This event is free, with a suggested donation of $5. Feel free to bring your donation to the event, or visit our donation page. Make sure to include “Seal Walk/Beach Cleanup Donation for [Date]” in the “How did you hear about us?” section!
Beach cleanup gear will be provided, but it is recommended you bring your own gloves. Be sure to dress warmly! Please note that there are different times for the beach walks, based on the tides and the best times to see the seals.
