Seal Walk

March 23, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

Please note, this event is for registered for Nature Initiative members only. To learn more about our youth program, click here.

We will do one more visit to Crane Neck Beach to pick up marine debris and record seal counts, species, and behaviors. Last time we visited we had some luck with observing harbor seals so we are hoping to see some more! Come and join us for a morning walk ~ donuts will be served!

Volunteers needed: 8

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Warm layers (hat, gloves, sweatshirt, winter jacket)
  • Sneakers or rain boots comfortable for walking on the beach in
  • Backpack (to put extra layers in)
  • Water bottle

Further Directions: After turning onto Crane Neck Road, go down about 1.2 miles and you will see Beach Path East on the right (for reference, there is a slight bend in the road). There will be an automated gate since its restricted beach access. This is a private beach that I was given the opportunity for pedestrian access to with our group, so there is no parking area. There is a gate at the entrance to the beach and this will be our meeting place for drop off and pick up- from here, we will walk down to the beach together as a group.
