Did you know that multiple sea turtle species swim in the waters off Long Island each year? This is the time of year when these amazing marine animals begin their migration south to warmer waters for nesting- mothers have an incredible ability to return back to the beach where they were born to lay their eggs. Unfortunately as the effects of climate change are more pronounced, some turtles begin to migrate too late and become hypothermic or cold-stunned. Join us for an interactive Zoom presentation by the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) to learn more about these spectacular reptiles and what we can do to help conserve them.
This is a virtual program- the Zoom link will be emailed to you upon registration.
