One of our other programs at Avalon, “Sue’s Seedlings” is geared towards our younger nature lovers. They typically come after school to go on hikes and Sue has some different gathering and play spaces for them off trail. One of these is referred to as the nest, and it needs a little TLC. We thought this would be the perfect opportunity for our older students to lend a hand. Some winter storms have caused many fallen branches and a small tree to topple over right through the nest!
Come join us as we head off trail- we’ll use loppers/pruners to cut back and clean up this area in the preserve. If we have time, we can start to reassemble the sitting space with branches which looks like an actual bird’s nest!
