Turtle babies have begun hatching and Nancy from the Friends of Flax Pond will be working with us to release them into the marsh on the creek side of the walking path at West Meadow Beach. We need volunteers to help photograph, weigh, measure, and notch the shells of the hatchlings. Nancy also needs our help in searching the beach for predated nests and test holes and we’ll be recording our observations on a data sheet. We will be meeting at the start of the walking path at the end of Trustees Road.
What to bring/further instructions:
- Clothing: closed toed shoes/sneakers, long pants (in case of ticks/poison ivy in the marsh)
- Water bottle
