As a peer mentoring opportunity, we reached out to some of our Nature Initiative alumni to see “where are they now” and asked if they would like to discuss their experiences after Avalon’s youth programs. One of our alumni, Caitlin, is excited to share her journey at Binghamton University where she is studying Environmental Policy and Law. Caitlin has been involved with many of our programs at Avalon including Natural Connections and Yellowstone Immersion. She was also my summer assistant last year with Nature Initiative! Caitlin has also participated in a very exciting deer project at her university.

All Nature Initiative participants are invited to attend! Even if you are not yet a junior or senior, I encourage you to take this opportunity to ask about some of Avalon’s other programs and experiences that Caitlin can answer from a student perspective. This is also a great way to connect with like minded peers who have participated in Nature Initiative and will give you the chance to ask about what college is like, environmental career paths, research, etc.
